Rainbow Valley Community Farm

A large portion of our land is, and always has been, farmed for the benefit of the whole Community.

For many years the farm team has run a herd of cattle, as well as having milking cows.

Planting and harvesting of trees (timber, firewood, fruit & nuts) is ongoing.

There is scope for market-scale gardening of potatoes and onions, with individuals running their own vegetable gardens.

We aim to farm according to organic principles, and to be open and flexible in trying new ideas. Animal welfare is a high consideration - our animals are quiet and happy!

As well as our communal farm, individuals have horses, chickens, goats and pigs.

Generally any money generated by farming activities has gone back into maintaining and upgrading the farm-land.

Meat and milk are available for residents.
